Upgrade your garage floor with Epoxy Flake!

pcc-blog-upgrade-your-garage-with-epoxy-flakOne way to increase the value of your home is by upgrading your garage floor from plain concrete to epoxy flake. Epoxy flake is a durable floor coating system that will not only protect your floor from oil, salt, and hot tires, but also give you a decorative look for years and years.  Flakes come in a variety of sizes and colors. Choose from pre-blended combinations or blend your own by picking 3 to 8 different colors. Additionally, we can include a tile pattern for a more sophisticated design.

A typical epoxy flake project takes approximately 4 – 5 days to complete. During the first few days we prep your concrete and repair any cracks or damages from previous years. In almost all cases, we prep garage floors by shot blasting and grinding the concrete to give us not only a clean surface, but also a surface profile that allows our products to bond with industrial strength. If you speak with another contractor, make sure they are shot blasting during the prep stage. This process is very important because it improves the quality and longevity of your epoxy flake flooring system.

After the surface has been prepped, our crew will then begin transforming your garage floor. First, we apply a base coat throughout the entire surface. If you decide to have a tile pattern, we then would tape out the tile pattern in accordance to your preferred tile size. Next we will come back and add a second epoxy coat and throw in the epoxy flakes that are desired. Once dry, we come back and scrape off any loose or jagged flakes. Finally, we top it off by adding two coats of clear, protective epoxy to ensure a lasting finish.
